Rental E-Bike Safety & Responsible Use
This general safety notice applies to e-bikes, batteries, chargers and equipment supplied as part of an E-Bikes Express rental. It does not replace the rental agreement, manufacturer instructions or the road rules that apply to your trip.
Check the rules before you ride
Riders are responsible for following current NSW road rules and any platform, access, helmet and equipment requirements that apply to their work. Laws can change and may depend on the bike configuration and where it is used. Check official NSW guidance before riding and ask the store team if you are unsure about the supplied setup.
Inspect the rental before each shift
- Check brakes, tyres, lights, frame, lock and battery mounting.
- Wear the supplied helmet correctly and secure cargo before moving.
- Stop riding and contact E-Bikes Express if the bike is damaged, behaves unexpectedly or displays a battery or electrical warning.
- Do not modify the motor, controller, speed settings, battery, charger or wiring, and do not arrange an unauthorised repair.
Battery and charging safety
- Use only the charger supplied for the rental battery.
- Charge on a stable, dry, non-combustible surface with ventilation, away from exits, heat, water and flammable materials.
- Do not charge or use a battery that is wet, damaged, swollen, unusually hot, leaking, smoking or giving off an unusual smell.
- Follow all instructions provided at pickup and contact the store immediately if the battery or charger has been dropped or damaged.
Battery runtime is an estimate. Rider and cargo weight, hills, weather, temperature, assist level, riding style and battery condition can all change the result.
Rental agreement and help
Pricing, minimum term, billing, damage, theft, optional protection, cancellation and return conditions are governed by the rental agreement supplied during the booking process. Read it before accepting the rental and ask the team to explain anything that is unclear.
For a safety concern, stop using the bike and call E-Bikes Express on 0414 771 787 or email hus@erbasgroup.com.au. Call 000 in an emergency.
